Commerce Square

Visit Praça do Comércio in Lisbon, also known as Terreiro do Paço. Located in downtown Lisbon, next to the Tagus River, Praça do Comércio is one of the largest in Europe and was the place where the palace of the former Kings of Portugal was located. In the center of the square is the statue of D. José I, which was erected in 1775 by Joaquim Machado Castro, an important Portuguese sculptor. In this square is also the famous Triumphal Arch of Rua Augusta, another tourist spot, where you can enjoy the view of the city.

Praça do Comércio is made up of 79 arches and is considered a historic symbol of political power. Near the square, on the bank of the river, is the Cais do Sodré river station, where boat excursions along the Tagus are carried out. You cannot miss this magical experience!
